Trade Store Manager

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and hardworking Trade Store Manager to join our growing organisation. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the smooth day to day running of a busy trade store with a main focus on outstanding levels of customer service. The role is varied and encompasses many aspects from health and safety, retail, merchandising marketing, purchasing and more. A large percentage of this role utilises the Netsuite computer system. This role suits a sales-focused yet down to earth professional who is adaptable, flexible, honest, willing and focused on growing the business.
Responsibilities:
- Provide an outstanding service throughout the entire customer experience. Providing a warm greeting, supporting the customer by making suggestions, upselling, taking quotes, following up quotes, creating leads, building rapport, taking goods to their van, discussing future jobs they may have.
- Ensure the trade counter is always filled with stock, faced up, clean, tidy, inviting and maintained to the highest level – merchandising and some retail knowledge essential
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the trade store/ warehouse/yard alongside colleagues. Tasks include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning toilets and kitchen, mowing the lawns, picking litter around the premise, general gardening etc
- Adhere to and promote strong values around our health and safety policies and procedures, to comply with H&S commitments of the company.
- Responsible for the accurate keeping of cash and card transactions, profit and stock loss and will be managed accordingly on this. Tasks include cashing up, daily stock counts and stock count checks, stock adjustments and stock level setting, tracking sales, coming up with ways to make the store more efficient and profitable.
- Be an effective, professional communicator with all teams throughout strukta and build positive relationships to improve the business and sales. Teams will include suppliers, other trade stores, internal sales reps, area manager, head office sales teams, finances and operations
- Effectively use IT systems – The Netsuite computer system is the heart of the business. processing transactions, order stock, transfer stock, book holidays, adjust levels etc.
- Attend monthly meetings with your area manager to discuss strengths, areas of improvement and the stores performance with an attitude to always improving.
- Promote the strukta brand positively through giveaways, trade days, occasional visits to site to see customers, strukta same day deliveries and rolling out company offers and deals effectively.
- In addition, all employees are expected to work within the terms of their contract of employment and adhere to strukta Group policies, values and required ways of working.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
- Highly motivated to achieve targets – Essential
- Outstanding customer service standards – Essential
- Basic product knowledge of building materials/industry essential . Further training given
- Strong I.T skills and literacy – Essential.
- Effective time management
- Able to pick up new processes quickly and effectively
- Strong communicator
- Be adaptable and able to multi-task.
- Forklift licence / Workplace First Aid – Preferred
