Transport Manager

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and hardworking Transport Manager to join our growing organisation. The successful candidate will be accountable for providing the Logistical requirements of the business including deliveries of stock to customers, and replenishing stores while meeting KPI’s to helping achieve the OTIF service level of 99%. As the Transport Manager you will ensure that transport operations meet all the legal requirements associated with operators licencing and meet the company standards for outstanding service and fulfilment. You need to be proactive, positive and willing to do what is needed as part of the operations team to deliver the high levels of service expected by our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Full management of the logistics requirements of the business.
- Compliance, Incident Management, and fuel usage
- Management and delivery of servicing, and maintenance schedules, delivering the most cost-effective solutions to meet the logistics budgets.
- Management of route planning to maximise fleet utilisation and deliver the most effecient delivery solution
- Ensuring timely deliveries of stock to customers and replenishment of strukta depots to an accuracy of 99% on time in full.
- Maintain FORS accreditation
- Ensure all vehicle checks and records are kept up to date.
- Operate a delivery roster that maximises opportunity for truck drivers, ensure on time delivery and efficiently uses resources.
- Ensure that any materials delivered late, or customer back-orders are chased and followed up until received.
- Continuous improvements of processes and procedures in line with the Company growth plans, including investigating new technologies
- Assist in conducting an annual LEAN efficiency review.
- Performance management of the Logistics Department, with responsibility for relevant budgets and resources
Requirements:
- FORS Practitioner – Preferred
- Holder of a Transport Certificate of Professional Competence – Essential
- Health and Safety Training (IOSH or NEBOSH equivalent) – Preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills – Essential
- Motivational leader with ability to motivate and create high performing team. – Essential
- An individual capable of making effective decisions in a fast-paced environment. – Essential
- Previous Transport Leadership experience – Essential
