September struktaSMILE Donations
Oct 08, 2017
As part of our struktaSMILE campaign, we are proud to support our customers and colleagues in their fundraising pursuits! People are at the heat of everything we do here at strukta, and it’s important to us to help raise money for causes that are close to people’s hearts.
We were inundated with requests in September, and we’re pleased to report that we were able to help a number of local and national organisations.
Our Portsmouth Trade Store colleague Dan took on a real challenge in September, cycling an impressive 65 miles from Portsmouth to Petersfield in aid of Rowans Hospice (and he did it in under 5 hours).
Our valued customer Cala Homes hosted a charity auction in aid of The Princes Trust last month and raised an incredible £18, 000! We were thrilled to hear that the powerboating prize we donated made over 4- times its value.
We also heard from a customer taking part in next year’s London Marathon in aid of the Group B Strep Support Charity. It was an honour to support his great cause, particularly as it was so personal to Giles as his young daughter had recovered from the infection.
Other customers contacted us with requests for sponsorship for some great activities and fun events! Berkeley Homes ran a charity paintballing event this month, and we were happy to support their chosen charity, Meru! A supplier local to our head office, Test Valley Packaging took part in a build challenge. They were tasked with building boats from various packing materials that would sail down the River Nadder in Salisbury. Great challenge, for a great cause – The Stars Appeal, Salisbury, who we’re also supporting at our Salisbury Trade Store.
We understand the role local organisations play in communities, and as such, we are on the lookout for not only charities, but local organisations that we can support. Last month we were pleased to offer a donation to FC Salisbury United children’s team! This money will go toward tracksuits for the winter season, and will help support an upcoming tour. Good luck team!
We were also contacted by Ashford Homes last month about another important local cause, the Wiltshire Music Centre. The organisation provides a facility for young, and elderly people to enjoy creative performance, and we were more than happy to offer a donation. Ashford Homes proposed a generous scheme – matching all donations they received from customers and suppliers! What a fantastic idea.
Keep the requests coming – we’d love to support you if we can! Just email us on marketing@strukta.co.uk and we’ll be in touch.
